DARPA’s preview of future technologies and innovations supporting the Future Combat Systems program Nowhere to Hide was created for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Program Manager Objective Force Technologies office to showcase future technologies and concepts that could be applied to the nascent Future Combat Systems (FCS) program. It tells the story of the first combat employment of Objective Force Warrior (the forerunner of today’s Future Force Warrior program) equipped soldiers backed-up by a suite of networked FCS systems. Sergeant Wright is the tough combat veteran NCO, and Private Ramirez the reluctant recruit who learns the power of these new technologies and what it means to be a soldier. CTI principals conceived, created and directed this visualization while at the University of Southern California’s Institute for Creative Technologies. Shot in Los Angeles County, the film was made with the support of the United States Marine Corps, the United States Army, DARPA and the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition Logistics and Technology.
