Future Combat Systems Manned Ground Vehicle Demonstrator
An interactive individual manned ground vehicle (MGV) combat platform simulator for Future Combat Systems.
The Future Combat Systems (FCS) Manned Ground Vehicle Demonstrator (MGVD) is an interactive individual combat platform simulator of FCS mounted combat. Each individually deployable chair gives visitors the opportunity to take the control of a Mounted Combat System (MCS) vehicle, employing a range of unique FCS capabilities. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV), and networked, Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) and Beyond-Line of Sight (BLOS) fires are but a few of the systems and capabilities users may employ to engage and destroy the enemy. Using the latest in entertainment software image generation and graphics coupled with the Army's premier verified validated and accredited (VV&A) ground simulation driver, One-SAF, the MGVD gives non-technical and professional users alike a vivid experience of FCS combat.
The MGVD was constructed in two months and employed for the first time at the 2007 Association of the United States Army (AUSA) convention in Washington DC.
